Where the Money Goes

Where the money goes

A Clear and Honest Breakdown of Our Commitment to St. Jude

When people hear about The St. Jude Lady project, the first question they often ask is simple and fair: “Where does the money go?”

The answer is just as simple.

Every dollar of profit from the sale of our self‑published book is donated directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital — not once a year, not at random, but four times annually, on a consistent and transparent schedule.

This project is not a charity. It is not a nonprofit organization. It is not endorsed, sponsored, or affiliated with St. Jude or ALSAC in any way.

It is a personal mission — born from one man and his wife’s story, one moment of inspiration, and one lifelong commitment to giving back.

Here’s how it works:

1. Book Sales

When a book is purchased, the payment is processed through our secure payment system. We subtract only the unavoidable costs of printing, shipping, and transaction fees.

2. Profit Calculation

After those basic expenses are covered, the remaining amount — the true profit — is set aside exclusively for donation.

3. Quarterly Donations

Four times a year, we make an official donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, sending 100% of the accumulated profit. No salaries. No overhead. No administrative deductions. Just giving.

4. Why We Do It

Because St. Jude represents hope. Because families should never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food. Because children deserve the chance to grow up, dream big, and live full lives.

And because kindness should leave a trail.

5. Transparency Matters

We believe in being open about how this project works. We believe donors and supporters deserve clarity. And we believe that generosity should always be handled with integrity.

6.  Our Staff is not paid

We have no paid employees. Every person involved in The St. Jude Lady Project donates their time, skills, and efforts entirely free of charge. Our work is powered solely by volunteers who believe in the mission and choose to serve without compensation.

This mission is simple: Turn a story into a blessing. Turn a book into a gift. Turn love into action.

That’s where the money goes — and that’s where it will continue to go, faithfully, four times a year.

OUR WALL OF SUPPORT

The St. Jude Lady’s Wall of Support is, for now, a beautifully imagined virtual monument — a digital landmark built to honor generosity, faith, and the unshakable spirit of community. Designed as a long sweep of polished black granite with gold engraving, the future physical wall will stand as a permanent tribute to those whose compassion fuels the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Across the base, the inscription “These are the First One Hundred Supporters” serves as both a promise and a proclamation. Every name that will one day be etched into that stone represents a story of hope, a choice to give, and a ripple of kindness that reaches far beyond Henagar, Alabama. Though the wall currently exists only here on this website, its purpose is already alive — and its future construction remains a heartfelt goal.

At the center of this unfolding legacy is Patricia Woods Barbee of Greensboro, North Carolina, the very first donor whose name shines proudly at the top. Her generosity marks the beginning of a tradition that will grow one supporter at a time. The design itself invites reflection: flowers blooming at the base, a butterfly resting gently nearby, and visitors pausing to read the inscription — symbols of renewal, grace, and the enduring mission of St. Jude.

More than a monument, the St. Jude Lady’s Wall of Support is a gathering place for gratitude. It connects donors, volunteers, families, and friends who believe in compassion as a calling. As the wall expands, it will continue to tell a story — name by name — of people who chose to stand for healing, hope, and love that lasts.

Only the first 100 donors who purchase a hard‑cover keepsake copy of Dr. Mindy Kushniroff’s Second Edition of “Becoming the St. Jude Lady: A Journey in Faith, Loss, and Giving” will have their names engraved on the wall. Each book will be personally inscribed by the author, becoming both a treasured keepsake and a symbol of the donor’s place in this legacy.
